Past Project Involvement
Delivering reliable outcomes through decades of hands‑on expertise.
Hybrid Power Station Conversion – PNG (Diesel to Solar + BESS)
We played a key technical and leadership role in the full conversion of a remote diesel power station into a hybrid solar‑farm and battery‑energy‑storage system. Our responsibilities covered end‑to‑end LV and controls integration, including:
LV switchboard and switch room design, engineered in WA for export and deployment to PNG
Hybrid control system integration, ensuring seamless operation between diesel generation, solar PV, and BESS
Client consulting on critical‑power infrastructure, advising on reliability, protection, and operational strategy
Design‑and‑construct coordination, managing fabrication, FAT, logistics, and site readiness
On‑site commissioning management, overseeing energisation, functional testing, and system validation in PNG
This project combined remote‑area engineering, hybrid‑system integration, and hands‑on commissioning leadership — delivering a modernised, resilient power solution for a challenging environment.
Large‑Scale HV Power Generation Facility – Northern WA
We were heavily involved in the design, construction, installation and commissioning of a major high‑voltage power‑generation site in Northern Western Australia. Our role covered multi‑discipline engineering, HV integration and on‑site delivery, including:
Design and construction of seven HV switch rooms, engineered for high‑reliability generation and distribution
Design and delivery of a 22 kV substation using Eaton UX primary switchgear
Engineering and construction of six 33 kV switch rooms built around Eaton XGIS primary switchgear
Management of site installation for all HV equipment, totalling over 130 tiers of primary switchgear
Testing oversight and commissioning supervision, ensuring compliance, operational readiness and safe energisation
This project required deep HV systems knowledge, strong coordination across fabrication and site teams, and hands‑on leadership through installation, testing and commissioning.
Data Centre Power Train Unit (PTU) Development – Concept to Commissioning
We worked on the concept design and prototype development of a 1.8 MW small‑form‑factor Power Train Unit (PTU) engineered for data‑centre applications. Using a 40‑ft container base dimension, the prototype integrated Eaton UPS systems, LV switchgear, cooling, fire protection, and battery storage — all within a single modular enclosure. The success of this prototype established a scalable product line, enabling subsequent builds of three 2.2 MW PTUs for a major data‑centre project now entering the commissioning phase, where our team will provide commissioning support.
Following this milestone, we have commenced fabrication of three additional 2.2 MW PTUs for a separate data‑centre deployment, continuing the evolution of compact, high‑density power infrastructure solutions.
Waste‑to‑Energy Facility Retrofit – Kwinana, WA
We were part of the engineering and compliance team responsible for bringing a European‑imported waste‑to‑energy plant up to Australian standards. The project required detailed assessment and bespoke engineering solutions to achieve full AS compliance across multiple switch rooms and control systems.
Key contributions included:
Comprehensive compliance audits against Australian Standards for electrical and mechanical systems
Design and implementation of retrofit solutions, including intricate mechanical and electronic interlocking systems
Engineering management and coordination of site modifications to align imported infrastructure with local codes
Consultation with power authorities and electrical inspectors, ensuring certification and operational approval
Integration oversight, balancing safety, functionality, and compliance within complex multi‑vendor systems
This project demanded precision engineering, deep standards knowledge, and collaborative problem‑solving to transform imported European systems into fully compliant, high‑performance Australian installations.
